Hon. Prime Minister Kassim M. Majaliwa officially opened a leadership induction programme for 78 District Commisioners and District Executive Directors from the Central zone of Tanzania in Dodoma on 16 May, 2017.

The induction programme, which is organized by UONGOZI Institute aims to enhance the DCs and DEDs understanding of how government operates in their jurisdiction.

“This is the first of four phases of the leadership induction programme, and by the end of August this year, we expect all DCs and DEDs in mainland Tanzania to have gone through the programme,” said Prof. Joseph Semboja, CEO of UONGOZI Institute.

The DCs and DEDs will participate in workshops on; good governance, ethics, integrity and anti-corruption; creating coalition and collaboration between government leaders; and the importance of using their emotional intelligence and its effects on leadership.

“This is a very important programme for you and for the government,” said Prime Minister Majaliwa, “I myself have been a beneficiary of a leadership seminar facilitated by Prof. Joseph Semboja, CEO of UONGOZI Institute, and I remember it to this day. What you will learn here will serve you well throughout your leadership career.”
