At the third Annual Economic Empowerment Forum convened on 18th June, 2018, by the National Economic Empowerment Council (NEEC) in the Prime Minister’s Office, UONGOZI Institute received the Grand Prize for supporting economic empowerment initiatives in the country.

Officiated by the Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Kassim Majaliwa (MP), the Forum aimed at creating opportunity to learn different methods of promoting the country’s economic development.

This year, the Forum brought together over 400 participants from public and private sectors under the theme “Industrialisation – a Pillar for Economic Empowerment”. Also in attendance were various Ministers, Regional Commissioners, Heads of State Owned Enterprises, as well as Heads of private sector institutions.

The NEEC awarded gold and silver trophies to successful institutions that have made noteworthy contributions to the economic empowerment of ordinary people.

This Grand Prize was in recognition of UONGOZI Institute’s continuous work with senior leaders who have a demonstrable impact upon their society’s development, and with individuals who have been recognised as emerging leaders with the potential to make a positive impact in their societies.
