At symposium on Sustainable Urbanisation in June 2014, the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania reflected up on the theme of “Meeting the challenges of implementing master plans”.

His speech considered the changing landscape of urbanisation in Africa and the challenges of urban master planning. He also emphasised ‘sustainable urbanisation’ within a broader development framework.
