Organised by UONGOZI Institute, the programme aims to enhance the DCs and Directors of LGAs understanding of how government operates in their jurisdiction.

“This is the first of four phases of the leadership induction programme, and by the end of August this year, we expect all DCs and Directors of LGAs in mainland Tanzania to have gone through the programme,” said Prof. Joseph Semboja, CEO of UONGOZI Institute.

The delivery approach featured presentations, self-assessments, discussions, theory-based techniques, role playing, case studies and small-group exercises. The programme covered several leadership courses, including effective political-administrative Interface, good governance, ethics, integrity and anti-corruption; and emotional intelligence.

“This is a very important programme for you and for the government,” said Prime Minister Majaliwa, “I myself have been a beneficiary of a leadership seminar facilitated by UONGOZI Institute, and I remember it to this day. What you will learn here will serve you well throughout your leadership career.”
